Nafnspjaldið

Well, now that we both know who you are, I greet you in English, and hope that you will feel welcome and comfortable within the realms of my home- site. Many of the pages to follow are in Icelandic, a curious little language spoken by only about 300.000 individuals "around the world". So, the chances are you will feel a bit lost, unless you get the following guidelines first. Some of the pages have been translated into a bilingual page, - for you, and a few more even exist in English only. Of course you will know which is which, but to get your bearings more easily from the start you can take a look at the links to the sides of this page and read the comments. There you will get basic navigational info to guide you across each field of material before plunging into it. My aim is to provide a warm and tranquil spot to dive into, pages that are a sharp contrast to all those gibberish graphics-heavy link-upon-link pages out there. Here you have home-spun material, neatly organized, as tastefully presented as I could, letting fonts and colors guide the eyes, instead of distractive slow-loading graphics. In a word, this site is material- intensive where you may easily pass some time gently and at ease (while paying only the local phonecall). But, unavoidably, there are some points where I would like to provide links to other sources of information in "the outside world". When that happens you will first be linked to a certain "link-page" where I remind you that you are about to abandon my home-site. Then you choose your link from there. Therefore, you will never accidentally end up somewhere away from "home". Want to take a look at the link- page? It is here: link-page Otherwise, I hope you will enjoy your time on my home-site. If you care to send me some feedback, I would be happy to reply. |
An extensive
journey through the solar- system. Written for Icelandic school-kids,
in Icelandic. It is a graphic beauty, and thus visually recommended
even for those who don´t speak a word of Icelandic.
