Nei, hæ! Þú!

Hi, my name is this: Thorsteinn G. Berghreinsson. Perhaps you know me from the series "Steiner goes North" or maybe the episode number five of "The Invisible Stranger" (yes, I DO like the Simpsons). I have many names, fitting place and time. One of them is Thor or you might humorously call me by the grand name of Mr. Berghreinsson. In my favourite language I may be found as Piedra de Valor, or Roca. In English that would be Rocky, no less! "Hey, Stone!" I also hear shouted sometimes, or Steen, or Stein. Then I remember Steinbeck fondly. But how does it sound? It is a weird name. So I say, "It´s like thirsty" So, people sometimes call me the Thirsty one, would you believe it? I sometimes am thirsty, but it´s not fair. People might think I´m a heavy drinker, not that I do mind at all, really. You can call me Jim if you want to. I don´t care. I would welcome it as a relief from my old name(s). I like Jim. But, the triple truth is, behind all this cacophony there is something stable, and in my routine daily life I have only one name, Thorsteinn (or Steini, for those who want to refer to me more informally). The name has a meaning, but what the heck, I´m not gonna drag you on any further. This is as far as I will take you in finding out about my personal facts. Facts are boring. Personal facts above all. And, hey!, you´re not interested in my anyway. I accept that, and I hope you realize it too. The chances are you are here by chance, right? You didn´t come here to find out about me. Besides, this page is for ME, not you! It is a list of my favourite things, basically, for me to approach anywhere I might be, China or heaven. But since we´re both equally human, we might share some interests. So you might as well stay on a bit longer, and enjoy the ride. Stick around and see what you can find, you might like some of the gems lying around. If you don´t, well, fine with me. I won´t even notice if you´re there or not. In fact you shouldn´t be here wasting your time surfing the net in the first place. Think about it!

And while you do, here´s a foretaste of my home-sweet-home page:

"A Seychellois fisherman was quietly netting fish from his pirogue and was approached by an inquisitive tourist. The fisherman explained that he caught enough for his and his family´s needs, then he went home to attend his garden for an hour, and then he sat on the beach and looked at the sea. The tourist was horrified. He patiently explained that if the fisherman caught more fish than he needed he could sell them, buy another boat and have a man working for him, then another and another - and then he would be rich and would hardly have to work at all. He could sit and look out at the sea for most of the day which, of course, the fisherman was quick to point out was precisely what he did already."
