You must do the sweeping breath. Recapitulation is not a psychological endeavor, it has to do with the energy lines. There are several different descriptions of how to make the list. From the most recent to the most distant or the other way around, or taking memories that bother you the most first, or all of your sexual encounters first. I read an article that said that Florinda just recapitulated whatever came to mind. You are lucky if you have diaries to help you make your list. However you choose to do it you must do the sweeping breath. Try to remember the room, the furniture, where you were sitting, what thoughts you had, etc. when you have the scene in your mind then inhale from right to left and exhale from left to right then turn your head from left to right and back again to solidify it. (Some say the breath is the other way around but CC said in an interview that it doesn't matter just so the intent of pulling back your fibers on the inhale and giving back others fibers on the exhale is there.) I started with the things that stand out the most in my life, (that bother me the most). Using the sweeping breath takes away a lot of the feelings about the incident. You become very objective about things that used to embarrass or frighten you. I'm still working on my first recapitulation and as I gather more energy from past incidents I feel like the task has become less daunting.

Good luck. I wish you well.
